Journey

-Dana discovered her passion for fashion design during her teenage years, inspired by her mother who was a skilled designer .

– At 19, while studying accounting and entrepreneurship at a qatar university, she launched her brand deline Abayas.

– Dana started small, designing and sewing abayas herself, often drawing inspiration from cultural elements and modern fashion trends.

– Her unique designs quickly gained popularity through social media.

– deline Abayas has grown significantly until she decided to change the identity and the name for many reasons :

– Brand Differentiation: The new name, “Margoot,” might better differentiate the brand in the market, making it more unique and memorable.

– Target Audience:The new name could resonate more effectively with her target audience, aligning with their cultural or aesthetic preferences.

– Reflecting Brand Evolution: As the brand evolved, the new name could better reflect its current identity, vision, and values.

-Expansion Plans: A new name might be part of a broader strategy to expand into new markets or product lines.

-Brand Protection: The new name might offer better protection and exclusivity in the fashion industry.

-Customer Insights: Feedback from customers and market research could have indicated a preference for a name that aligns more closely with the brand’s identity and value

-Market Trends: Adapting to market trends and customer preferences might have driven the decision to rebrand.

The name “Margoot” indeed reflects a similar meaning to the Arabic name “Dana,” which also signifies a valuable and precious pearl. This connection can enhance the brand’s appeal by drawing on the cultural and symbolic importance of pearls in Arabic heritage.

Dana Alotaibi Statement:

“When I chose the name ‘Margoot’ for my brand, I wanted it to reflect the same elegance and cultural richness as the name ‘Dana,’ which signifies a precious pearl in Arabic. Just like a pearl, our abayas are crafted with care and precision, representing beauty, uniqueness, and timelessness. ‘Margoot’ embodies our commitment to quality and our connection to cultural heritage, making it a perfect name for our brand.”

– Dana believes in the fusion of tradition and modernity. Her abayas often feature intricate embroidery, high-quality fabrics, and contemporary cuts.

– She focuses on sustainability, ensuring her production processes are eco-friendly and ethically sourced.

Dana’s story can serve as an inspiration to other young designers who wish to start their own fashion brands.
